Our Quality Family Services

We offer high-quality care to help you feel confident about your smile and improve your oral health. We achieve this by using a wide range of exceptional dental services, which include:

Gentle Children’s Dentistry

We use the same principles for kids that we do for other ages, encouraging prevention as the best way to preserve oral health. We enjoy working with kids, educating them on effective hygiene routines while monitoring their development during each visit. During exams, we use low-radiation digital X-rays, track the progress of erupting teeth, and pinpoint any issues that need attention.

Our children’s services include:

  • Thorough Cleanings & Exams
  • Fluoride Treatments
  • Sealants
  • Fillings

Brushing twice daily, flossing, and a balanced diet can mean the difference between a perfectly healthy smile and one that requires extensive restorative treatment. By introducing positive habits early in life, you help your child avoid cavities and gum disease. But if these problems arise, Dr. Lee and his highly trained staff offer solutions to repair your child’s smile.

Orthodontics for Adults & Teens

Portrait of happy senior mother and grown-up daughter huggingPre-teens and adolescents are the most common age group to undergo orthodontic treatment, but we also offer services for adults. For mild cases of malocclusion, we can tailor the Invisalign system to your teen’s needs. Invisalign clear aligners are an effective and popular alternative to metal brackets, wires, and braces. These virtually invisible braces use custom trays designed to fit comfortably over your teeth.

Since these aligners are removable, however, we will only recommend Invisalign to those responsible and committed enough to remember to wear their aligners for 22 hours a day minimum. For moderate to more severe cases, we recommend orthodontic treatment with traditional braces.

Our visiting orthodontist is available to perform comprehensive services, including early intervention using spacers and expanders and maintenance treatment with retainers.

Dentistry for Adults Supporting the Oral-Systemic Connection

Modern research has shown a clear and often underestimated link between your oral health and your overall well-being. This link is known as the oral-systemic connection. At the office of Jia Y Lee, D.D.S., we offer comprehensive services and education that address this connection and help establish optimal oral and overall health.

Bacteria from oral infections can spread through water droplets when we breathe in, reaching the lungs and causing a pulmonary disease or pneumonia. Additionally, bacteria can access the bloodstream and cause secondary infections anywhere it can reach, including the heart.

Our team works to improve your oral health and boost your body’s defenses. For instance, successfully treating gingivitis can help lower your risk of complications during heart surgery. In some cases, your doctor may request confirmation that your oral health is in good condition before surgery.

Treating Sleep Apnea with Dental Appliances

Dr. Lee and his team deliver complete wellness support with sleep apnea treatment. Sleep apnea symptoms include extreme fatigue, poor quality sleep, and inability to focus throughout the day. Our team makes the diagnosis and treatment planning process easier for you by performing an initial screening using Cone Beam 3D imaging. After this screening, you’ll see a physician who will conduct a sleep study. When you have your official diagnosis, you will have treatment options.

While traditional treatment for sleep apnea usually involves wearing a mask that pushes air through the nose and throat (CPAP), Dr. Lee understands that many individuals have trouble using this system. Instead, we provide a custom sleep apnea dental appliance.

This appliance looks like an athletic mouthguard and works to hold the jaw in a slightly forward position to keep airways open. Sleep apnea dental appliances are comfortable to wear, easy to travel with, and effective.

Additional Treatments Using Dental Appliances

Cone Beam 3D imaging also allows us to create splints and night guards to treat TMD and bruxism. Temporomandibular disorders develop from problems with the jaw joint and the muscles that control chewing and moving the jaw. Bruxism is clenching or grinding that can occur when you are awake or asleep.

There is a strong correlation between these conditions and sleep apnea. Although the exact link is not clear, the management of them often includes similar treatment plans. Jia Y Lee, D.D.S., offers dental appliances for relief from the painful symptoms that result from these conditions.

Caring for Senior Smiles

Family dental services from our team are also useful for seniors in your family. We offer restorations that allow normal function, including bridges and partial dentures that fit seamlessly with the rest of the smile.

If traditional restorations are no longer serving your needs, Dr. Lee can determine if you are a viable candidate for dental implants. These titanium posts replace tooth roots and serve as the foundation for beautiful crowns, bridges, or dentures, allowing you to function and smile with confidence.

Experienced Gum Disease Treatment

Portrait of cheerful senior coupleGum disease, also known as periodontitis, is a condition that affects millions of adults and seniors each year. Dr. Lee and his staff offer a soft-tissue management program to assist with different stages of the disease.

Soft-tissue management includes a variety of non-surgical procedures done over several visits. The first step is to remove accumulated plaque with a full-mouth debridement. This treatment allows for better access to the pockets for deep-cleaning, or scaling and root planing. We can follow this with antibiotics placed below the gum line to kill bacteria.

You may need additional maintenance cleanings, as well as re-treatment with antibiotics or debridement. As your condition improves, your cleanings can be spaced farther apart. If more advanced care is required, we have a periodontist who can perform surgical procedures. With our help, you can overcome periodontitis and achieve the healthy, vibrant smile you’ve always wanted.
